Floods?
Believe it or not but while south Queensland was being washed away during January 2010 we actually had some pretty nice weather up in the Daintree, and it is business as usual in far north Queensland!!
Beach?
How far is Rainforest Hideaway from the beach?
About a 20 minute walk down the street, or drive down and park within a couple of minutes from the beach in the carpark at the Dubuji boardwalk.
Facilities?
Rainforest Hideaway is an eco lodge without all the standard facilities of big hotels in the city, deep in the jungle far away from services like electricity and mobile phone reception.

Ferry?
The Daintree river ferry runs up and down continuously from 6 AM till midnight, $23.- return.
Four wheel drive?
Do we need a four wheel drive to get to Cape Tribulation?
NO! The road has been sealed all the way for quite a few years now, and any car can make it here. Only if you want to go further north up the Bloomfield Track to Cooktown will you need a four wheel drive.
Mosquitoes and dangerous animals?
I know that it is hard to believe but at night there are no mosquitoes! Many people did not believe me and had to acknowledge the next morning that I was right. We can get some mozzies that buzz around your face without actually biting in daytime but at night no worries mate!
Snakes and spiders; there are no snakes or spiders or other animals in the Daintree rainforest that can kill you, so it is actually more dangerous in Sydney or Melbourne where there are funnelback spiders, redback spiders, and brown snakes!
