Because you're way out in the jungle does not mean you
will have to survive on witchety grubs, lizards and semi-poisonous
rainforest seeds like the Aborigines used to do, Cape Tribulation
has a few good choices to enjoy a civilized meal....
Just around the corner from Rainforest Hideaway is Cape
Tribulation's favorite restaurant; Whet.

Dining on the deck at Whet
Simply drive down Camelot Close to the main road, turn
right, and after about a hundred metres you're there. Lunch and dinner
daily, with tapas in between meal times.
The bar is always a pleasant and relaxed place for
a drink and there is a small cinema upstairs with only 25 seats which
are all beanbags and recliners, probably the comfiest cinema in Australia,
and you can take your beer in to the cinema too!
The map below shows you Rainforest Hideaway in relation
to your dinner choices.
The nearest place to Rainforest Hideaway is Cassowary
cafe, just down the street, pizza, pasta, some other meals, and takeaways
can be found here.
The best place in Cape Tribulation is Whet, as mentioned above.
Another good value choice is the Beachhouse, five kilometres up the
main (unsealed) road, the restaurant is very close to the beach, but
a bit of a walk from the carpark.
During daytime there are also two cafes, the Boardwalk Takeaway and
Mason's Cafe at the Cape Trib shop, but opening times are somewhat
random.
